As we know that natural stone surfaces are beautiful. But there are not everyone knows how to care for them. At RadhaMadhav marble, we get so many of question from our customer or client about care and maintenance of natural stone used for countertops, imported marble flooring, wall cladding and more. Here we compiled our few tips to help de-mystify the dos and don’ts of living with natural stone.

Do’s

1.    Always use coasters under glasses, especially when drinking acidic beverages like cold drink, alcohol, coffee etc.

2.    Use place mats when you are eating on a granite or marble countertop or bar top.

3.    Always use a rug at entryways to keep dirt and sand away from your natural stones.

4.    Make ensure natural stone has been professionally cleaned before selling.

Don’ts

1. Avoid using abrasive cleaner such as comet or soft scrub and also never use any type of scouring pads on natural stone. This may damage your natural stone surface.

2. Never use harsh disinfectants like bleach and ammonia. Don’t use vinegar to clean granite or marble as its is highly acidic and will damage it. They might contain silicon carbide and scratch the natural stone surface.

3. Wipe up spills immediately. The longer they sit causes bigger risk of permanent damage , even if the granite or marble has been sealed.
