We live in a world where a lot of young individuals have so many dreams and aspirations. There is this desire to succeed in life, but deep down lies a problem of navigating through the path that leads to the actualization of those dreams.
We have so many questions to ask but who do we ask?
We have people we look up to in our areas of interest but somehow we are unable to build a relationship with them.
Some of us have had mentors but the impact of the mentorship was not felt. Mentorship is meant to be beneficial to both parties involved.
What is Mentorship?
Mentorship is a relationship between two individuals where the person who is more knowledgeable and experienced in a particular area passes on the knowledge to the other person. Mentors guide their mentees based on their experiences and also help them learn from the mistakes they made while trying to navigate their career path.

1. Communicate Proactively: Keep open lines of communication with your mentor. Regularly update them on your progress, challenges, and goals. Don't hesitate to ask for guidance or feedback when needed.
2. Be Goal-Oriented: Clearly define your objectives and share them with your mentor. This will help both of you align on expectations and make the mentorship more purposeful and productive.
3. Respect Their Time: Understand that your mentor likely has a busy schedule. Be mindful of their time, schedule meetings in advance, and come prepared with specific questions or topics to discuss.
4. Show Appreciation: Express gratitude for your mentor's guidance and support. Acknowledge the value of their time and expertise, and let them know how their advice has positively impacted your development.
