In the midst of our Capitalist tendencies towards "gain" and private ownerships and increase of Wealth and prosperity and all the good things of Life, let us remember to show mercy, love, equity and justice.
Let us make out time to remember the poor, the weak, the needy, and the downtrodden in our societies. These people are very important to G-d.
They may not be immediately or remotely "related" with us, but we all share a common "humanity".
Jesus Christ, during his time on Earth, rebuked the Jewish leaders for placing more emphasis on "tithes and offerings" instead of on showing love, compassion and Mercy which is the crux of the "Shabbat" or the Shabbos.
Without imbibing "equity and fairness" in our dealings with each other, we tilt the "balance" towards one extreme, either to the Left or the Right.
Extremism is wrong in all ramifications since the guidance is to maintain "balance", "not too much to the Right, and not so much to the Left either".
Let us learn to be humble with the endowments and privileges given to us by the Almighty. This is the Fear of G-d , and most critical for personal and national sustainability.
As we who profess to possess "the Fear of G-d" look towards our "Holy Days", namely Yom Kippur, Easter and Hajj.(And notice the close proximity of these "dates" with G-d), I believe we hope for G-d's Mercy upon our lives. Let us also learn to operate the principles of love, mercy and compassion towards all Mankind.
Love does not scheme "evil" against its neighbour.
A Father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. ... But the Lord has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. Psalm 146:9. The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow.
