The main steps to close a subsidiary in China

1. Apply to the foreign investment approval authority (Bureau of Commerce in China) for approval of dissolution.

2. Establish liquidation group, and report to company registry (Market Supervision and Administration Bureau in China) for the record.??

3. Publicly announce the dissolution.?

4. The liquidation group to issue liquidation report.

5. Submit the liquidation report to the foreign investment approval authority and revoke the approval certificate.

6. Apply to the tax bureau for cancellation.

7. Apply to company registry for cancellation.?

8. Deal with the cancellation of bank accounts, foreign exchange, finance, technology supervision, statistics, public security and other departments to cancel the formalities.
