Main learnings from panel 'Financial Literacy for Directors'

My co-panelist, Maryann Bruce, has done a wonderful job summarizing the key takeaways from our panel discussion regarding Financial Literacy for Directors. This informative discussion was sponsored by the UNC School of Law’s Director Diversity Initiative. It was designed to provide new and prospective corporate board members with ideas and suggestions regarding their diligence over company’s financial information and public filings. As discussed during the presentation, it is very important for all board members, not limited to qualified financial experts, to have a basic understanding of what this information means. Having been on both sides of the boardroom table, I was able to share the perspective from the executive’s as well as the board’s point of view. I was my honor to join this esteemed panel, together with Lloyd Johnson and Wendy Burden to discuss these important topics.
