MAI MAZENGERA
Mai Mazengera recently stepped down as the session clerk for Kaning’a CCAP. Knowing that she took up that role became ordinary and I was recently reminded of how much of a duty it was to serve the Lord and the Church in this role.

Mother likes being hands-on so I thought she was going to go on. “Simuzisiya inu,” I said after she shared her conflict of wanting to step down. She said that some of her brethren wanted her to go on but to my proud surprise she eventually did step down. More importantly, it echoed what she always says “Eklesia ndi wa Mulungu si wathu…”

With that being said, I am Kilometers away from my mother, running my own affairs. But now more than ever I am more inclined to obey and honor her.
After all, she had to navigate being a single parent at a critical point in her children’s lives. Where she had/is to help(ing) guide her children through university and life after.

How does she do it?
She says, “Zisomo zaMulungu”
