Indian Firm Cliantech Solutions Lands 600 MW Solar Module Project in UAE

  • The project will be set into operation in August this year.
  • The automated production line of 600 MW will incorporate technologies such as Mono PERC, Bifacial, and TopCon.
  • Initially, the site will boast of an initial capacity of 600 MW every year.
  • This advancement will take place in two phases.
  • Recently, the world’s largest single site solar park in Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park received two bids (ACWA Power and Masdar) for the phase VI of the1,800 MW tender launched in September 2022.

Maharashtra Signs MoUs For 5,220 MW Renewable Power Generation?

  • The Maharashtra state government has taken a significant step towards achieving its goal of having 50% of its installed power generation capacity sourced from renewable energy.
  • Renewable Power Projects Under the agreements, SJVN and Mahagenco will collaborate on developing renewable power projects with a total capacity of 5,000 MW.
  • The estimated cost of these projects is Rs 40,000 crore.
  • Additionally, Mahagenco will assist in the development of another solar power project with a capacity of 500 kilowatts, amounting to a cost of Rs 472.19 crore.

Power Minister urges ISA to take up more solar energy projects in Africa

  • Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy R K Singh has urged the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to take up more solar energy projects in Africa.
  • "The economically strong countries will find the renewable energy funds themselves, while the economically weak countries would need green funds.
  • India is the president and France is the co-president of the ISA.
  • The two sides observed that almost half of the African continent does not have access to electricity.
  • He further said that the ISA should set up a de-risking mechanism and should also tap more green funds and thus promote grid-scale solar energy projects in the African continent.
  • He informed that while 43 per cent of India's capacity today is from non-fossil fuels, it has committed to reducing the emission intensity by 45 per cent by the year 2030.
