When I’m engaged in an activity I love, such as drawing on my iPad, I become deeply absorbed. It’s not uncommon for me to lose track of time or fail to notice my wife leaving the room. This hyperfocus, often described as “tunnel vision,†allows me to pour my full attention into one task, blocking out distractions entirely.
