Magnificent Women

For the woman reading this, I want to ask you one question:

Do you believe you are magnificent?

It’s not a trick question

Can you put your hand on your heart and say, ‘Yes absolutely, I am magnificent’.

Not the easiest thing to say......

And what stops us from saying it?

Our conditioning keeps us in a state of mind that we are anything but...........

From my interactions with women of all ages and occupations over the years including friends, teachers, nurses, sisters, mothers, leaders, bosses and carers, I’ve found that many do the most amazing things; they are kind, loving, nurturing, passionate, talented, inspirational, supportive with dreams and desires of their own. Yet too often, they sell themselves short.??Many give up on their aspirations. Many don't believe they've got what it takes.

And yet, how does that benefit anyone? It simply serves to keep us small and limits who we can become.

Neuroscience shows us that we can reprogram our minds. When we learn new ways of thinking, we can positively affect our mindstate and break out of the conditioned thinking patterns that keep us stuck.??

Right now, I would say that the world needs our gifts, wisdom, talents, compassion and abilities more than ever – at work, at home, within our families and communities. Why keep them muted any longer? Here are some fun facts why we need to unmute and be bold!

  • Women leaders are overworked and underrecognized
  • Men hold 62% of manager positions to women’s 38% (and it gets worse higher up)
  • Women's career progression plateaus in their late 20s and early 30s. In addition, those who enter the job market in low-paid roles rarely progress compared with men.
  • A culture of overwork disadvantages female employees who have caring commitments, and women face stigma for being associated with part-time or flexible working.??
  • A shortage of quality part-time work is a key barrier to progression??
  • Gender bias flourishes without clear and transparent systems on pay and promotion, with decisions reached via processes that disadvantage women

Whilst there does need to be macro changes in society, we can effect micro changes that en mass create a ripple effect.

Right now I don’t know how we can change things but I do know that

when we change our mindstate, change does happen – that is a given.

That’s how change starts. I want more women to feel empowered. That's why I've created a membership for women only that addresses the stuff that typically holds us back and the magic that moves us forward.??I’ve spent years studying and practicing personal development and I want to share some of the many tools and techniques that have helped me and other women to overcome obstacles, grow in confidence and live with purpose. I'll be launching it soon - watch this space!

Best,

Debbie
