I never planned on leaving the cocoon of my corporate job. I worked 100-plus hour weeks, my relationships were dysfunctional, I was overweight, stressed out, and life was being sucked out of me - the daily grind became what I knew. However, deep down I yearned for a more balanced life, one where my body was healthy, my relationships were connected and I was doing good things in the world where I felt a sense of purpose and security.
Fear of the unknown kept me from navigating towards something fulfilling, I continued barreling down the track I was on.?
?As is always the case when we stay too long in something that doesn’t serve our highest good, eventually that track abruptly ends. I was catapulted into the unknown I had dreaded. Ultimately, what started as a struggle to survive, turned out to be one of my life’s greatest blessings.
We are not designed to play small. We are made to live freely and fully, exploring possibilities and pursuing what lights us up.
?Sometimes, scary as it may be, that means leaving our comfort zone and moving into unfamiliar territory. If you’re anything like me, despite hindsight proving the power and magic of the unknown, there are times I continue to fight it. Often, I want to control my experiences to feel comfortable, but that’s not where my dreams live. Dreams require a risk - a willingness to enter the unknown. So I turn my attentions inward to meditate.
Join me in this week’s guided meditation and open to the magic that’s in the unknown. Click the link below to listen to this week's Five Minute Fix!
