The Magic of Technology

The Magic of Technology

Often, we look at technology as something in and of itself. It is revered, inspires deep devotion at times and is viewed as being something to chase, catch and use fully. Technology in itself is nothing. How it is used, what it does and where it takes us is much more interesting based on our motivations in using that technology and how it changes our lives. In the past decade, I've seen more amazing things transform our lives than at any time in my life. It's exciting to watch.

It's not that we use technology. It's that we live technology. Godrey Reggio

For instance, take a look at this amazing piece of advertising from British Airways. Using technology, BA was able to frame a moment, literally, and make us pause, reflect on our lives and be inspired about where we could go and explore.

Another interesting use of technology takes us into another space entirely to explore art, science and the world around us by allowing the very space around us to be transformed.

In every aspect of life, technology is transforming how we see life itself and how we act, what we do and how we do it together. What is amazing is how much technology is altering who we are as people in every aspect of life.

It's amazing to realize that our children haven't just witnessed a fundamental shift in technology. They have seen an entire evolution in our social patterns, lifestyles and an entire re-imagining of who and what we are in the world and Universe. I'm in wonder for what's next.

Interesting perspective Barry indeed. Perhaps what's next will be driven as much by the values, motives, social moral collaboration and direction that users adopters come to embrace that benefits "people". I like how you said, technology in itself is nothing.
