Magic Marketing of a Book...by NOT Marketing the Book

Marketing is a huge part of making it known that you’ve written a book, but most people only think about the marketing long after they’ve finished writing and have published their book.


Suddenly they think: “Oh, how do I now market my book?”, and then find it difficult and frustrating to get book sales.


So, today I’ll share a very clever way to market your book, in fact, I think it’s magic!


You see, I’ve applied the principle of marketing my own books in this way, made $25,000 in ?the first week of publishing one of my books, and of course, I also teach this clients who write their book with me, because my book writing framework includes creating your marketing, not just writing and publishing your book.


Here is how someone else created this magic marketing for their book:


Recently I had the privilege of listening to a couple of different speakers at a workshop who displayed great expertise in informing, entertaining, and sharing their message.


The first speaker shared compelling real-life examples, weaving in humor into her presentation and created funny situations involving the audience that instantly made the audience warm up to her.


However, there was a missed opportunity for her. Despite her ability to engage the crowd, she lacked these two things:


Number 1 – She did not have a book to her name. There was nothing she left with the audience to keep remembering her and her message.


Number 2 – She did not have a solid understanding of marketing to a crowd who she got to ‘love’ her and failed to make an offer to the eager audience. It was a disappointment, both for her and the audience.

Then, the stage was taken by a tall, slim gentleman, exuding an air of sophistication with his well-dressed appearance and a companion by his side. He reminded me of a magician, and indeed, he performed magic right before our eyes.

Right from the start, he drew the audience in with intriguing numbers around growing your business, well displayed on the whiteboard and capturing everyone's attention - this was his BIG message.


It was as if everyone was hanging onto his every word. I observed the room, and I could tell that his skillful choice of words and presentation style had everyone enchanted.

Even before I made note of how he performed that number ‘puzzle’, that left us all curious about what those figures exactly meant for us, the moment came—the sale, his offer.


While we were not prepared for it as such, we did eagerly await it, because he intertwined the answer to the number ‘puzzle’ into his offer.


He presented a one-of-a-kind planning session that promised to transform even the tiniest efforts to increase business into substantial results within a short time frame and the number ‘puzzle’ would be solved for each individually during this planning session.


It felt like he had us in the palm of his hands.


Now, here's where the magic truly happened. Alongside this exclusive offer, available only for today and at a significantly reduced price, he unveiled his book, offered to us completely free, to at least glance through BEFORE we’d have our planning session with him.


It was a stroke of genius.


Why?


This offer achieved a 100% conversion rate among the audience.


Yes, even I succumbed to the persuasive power of the moment, giving in to the pressure of the intrigue because he presented the book as part of the answer to the number puzzle.


Every single person in the room eagerly purchased the planning session but really, when you think about it, the book.


And as a book, at a price ten times higher than what it would cost as a standalone purchase.

Truly, it was an extraordinary example of magic marketing for a book, the best I've witnessed so far.


You see, he actually got the book into EVERYONE’S hands this way, and everyone would read it in preparation for the planning session!


Have I used a ‘book selling’ technique like this before?


Yes, in similar ways, with and without standing in front of a crowd, and you can too!


The prerequisite to be able to do this is exactly what my book writing framework is all about, and here is why:
