The magic is inside you, there ain't no crystal ball.
Last post I mentioned that each of us has bucket loads (technical term) of magic inside of us. The word magic stuck with me, so I’m pulling on this sparkly gem from Dolly for this morning’s quote. Let’s talk about magic!
There are times in our lives when directions and instructions are vitally important. When we’re navigating unfamiliar roads. When we’re putting together something from Ikea. When we’re learning how to play tennis or baseball or soccer or how to throw a pot on a wheel. And there are also times when waiting from directions is simply a stalling technique. I know I’m guilty of this and I suspect most of you are from time to time as well. Perhaps we’re feeling a bit unsure as to what action to take. Perhaps people we know and care about and trust and respect are giving us mixed signals. Perhaps we know that once we take a step in that direction, the other directions are lost to us forever.
Fair. Sometimes. I think more often we’re scared of trusting ourselves and maybe even a little scared that the people around us won’t like our choice and it will impact our relationships with them. But the truth is – the scary, all-too-adulting truth – is that only we know what’s right and true for us. As often as I wish for Hogwarts’ Sorting Hat or other similar all knowing entities outside of myself, the only true crystal ball sits inside me.
Be like Dolly. Know you are the magic.
