The Magic of Human Connection: Why AI Can't Replace It
In this new age of Artificial Intelligence, it’s hard to know where the lines blur between what is real and what is fake or non-human.
Is the book you are reading, created by a human or a robot? Is the video you are watching a real human or a robot? Is the voice you are hearing, real or a robot? Is this article written by me or Chat GPT?
As a voice and communication skills coach, I want to talk about how AI can be used as an incredible tool to help us in our communication, but there are definite lines where it cannot and should not ever cross…that’s in human connection.
AI: Our personal assistant
First, let me say, I think that AI is our absolute BFF. It can proof read, analyses data, give you great ideas, create graphs, resize images, transcribe audio, video, create subtitles, write scripts that speak to your audience and so much more. It can save you an incredible amount of time. And time is your most precious commodity…you will never get it back. (More on that topic in another blog).
Have you ever had the feeling that someone is speaking personally to you in the moment when you were most in need of it? AI can make that happen by scanning data and working out what makes you tick, so people like me can market directly to your needs, goals and desires. It means we as content creators, can mirror what people like you want to hear.
The missing link: Emotional Connection
But here is what AI can’t do. It can’t connect with our humanness. When a voice cracks with emotion or when a personal story truly connects with an audience because it’s 100% reel, honest and raw.? When a singer has a magic moment in the studio. When a voice moves you, inspires you, compels or persuades you. It’s because it’s human. AI can mimic patterns, but it can’t feel like you and it hasn’t lived your experiences. If are interested to read more exciting

Imagine: a gentle giggle, a chuckle, and pause to hold back a tear, a subtle smile. These are unspoken moments that show vulnerability and are understood instinctively by humans. These nuances are emotion and empathy in our words. AI doesn’t feel.
So remember one thing, humans crave human connection. We love stories that show emotion, speeches that give us chills, videos that intrigue or make us laugh and blogs that challenge our opinion. AI can elevate your performance. But never forget the human connection.
Never forget the power of your own voice, your own emotions, and that magical connection that only humans can create.
