The obvious first answer would be to ensure globally accepted formal communication standards within the team such as usage of English as a medium of communication. However this could be disadvantageous to few people say people who are not good with English. In which cases, I would need to take initiative to fix the gap. As a leader, I need to have a good understanding of the diversification in your team rather than assumptions. Once I have a clear idea about that, I have a quick read about any group that I am not aware of. Once I have such an understanding I can evaluate current practices that could be considered global but yet biased against someone and sought steps to resolve it.
