For those of you who read my blog about being in a car accident, you will know that i was resting a very sore body for a few weeks, My Grandson who knows i devour books every week, and that i to am an Author, decided his Nana was bored, ( and i was ), so he paid me a visit, with him he bought two books, i had a very quick squizz through, preferring to spend the day with him. The first book the Iron Tree book one of the Crowthistle Chronicles, the Author Cecilia Dart-Thornton it was the lead into an unknown world and a language that not only became musical but almost poetry, the second book The Well Of Tears, again magic, cant wait to read the third book Weatherwitch and i believe number four is now in the library Fallowblade .But once again im ahead of myself, once he had gone home, i gleefully dived in to have a good read before it was time for dinner. I have to admit to being a little confused at the way they were written, it read like another language, then it became very clear, the Authors description was of a world we cannot see, one with wights, ghostys, goblins and fairies. Once i got the hang of it, i loved it, the way she describes areas, the seasons, people and the flow of a secret magic.
These are adult books, but has the power to take you to another world, an older way of life, a world that does not exist, or does it? from the corner of your eye, often when the brain is stilled, even for nano second, you may think you see something small dart across the garden, so small it was a fleck, or when your daydreaming and you hear music, faintly flute like and eerie. Where its coming from? you cannot tell, but you know it was there. For those of you who believe in the faerie world, this book is for you, enjoy .For those of you who do not read or only watch the telly, take some time out.. It is such a refreshing journey . Many thanks Cecilia for filling my week with magic. Author of the above novels Cecilia Dart-Thornton.
