I’ve?previously shared?how expensive it is to turn over employees, so having a solid onboarding process should be a no brainer, yet so many organisations don’t have a structured onboarding process.?

It feels like a necessary evil that’s just going to take a bunch of your time and energy.

... or worse, they stay and cause you headaches because they aren’t performing (which will be your fault and be a time suck to deal with).?

1 年I love how you paint the perspective of the new hire here. It's so easy for organisations to forget just how much angst and excitement a new hire might feel. It's professional and in an employers' interests to onboard properly, but it's also an empathetic act of kindness and respect.

1 年Bravo Jess! Onboarding is such an important step in the hiring process but often forgotten about until the day (or in your example - the day after). An introduction to culture is essential for both employee and employer expectations. Not everything can be reduced to a handbook.

1 年100% true. I literally got out of a meeting with a client today where we discussed the difference between a service based business delivering results and not delivering results is how well they onboard their new team members (or don't). Love this Jess Weiss!

1 年So true Jess. So many employment relationship fails could be avoided if this was done well at the beginning.
