The magic derivative called SUCCESS

Everyday I live, I learn. I have learnt and would want to learn. When you are keen and eager to learn, that means it is something new you are looking forward to- the unknown. It is our natural tendency to look at a bright things ahead. In life we call them healthy living, while at work, in business we call them future strategies. We plan these strategies, we implement and we drive us towards the winning goals.

At first however, when our leaders sit in their “war-rooms” and brainstorm to bring in the strategy to take and sustain us ahead for the next business tenure- how do they do it?

Well! [:-)] I am not a fortuneteller or an Oracle, however, if we are a logical practitioner of our evolved mind and it’s capability to assess, we would be able to come to the nearest accurate inference to this question….

I learnt in my years, walking through those numerous doors of success via the steps of learnings via stop-overs (many call them mistakes, aberrations or failures) that there are 3 steps followed everywhere in all aspects of your living to succeed. It is only how you interpret these 3 instruments of success is what makes our perceptions unique and of different significance.

  1. Adaptation to Time
  2. Process the Change
  3. Manage your Knowledge

Since the time I was able to categorize and signify the above 3 steps- I have never had to falter to take up and strategize new challenges.

Now that sounded up there as too rhetorical [got off track from the acceptance and implementation of future strategies towards success]… hmmm. Ok let’s practically elaborate.

  1. Time is the ‘DICTATOR’- in today’s modernized improvised and energized world of humans. Time and tide never waits for anyone. Hence, it, to me is an entity that dominates and never collaborates- it does not believe in co-existence. It is fast, rapid and always on the move.

So how do we ‘tame the shrewd’- well, if you can’t fight it why not flow with it- that’s what is also taught when you are skydiving- steer clear and you have no fear.

  1. We need to assess it’s past- how it behaved, how it reacts- know it’s pulse. In corporate world we do this through historical reports, surveys and market research, resource analysis and trend mapping via Analytics and other tools.
  2. You need to know time in such a way so that you can manage it without rummaging it- learn it’s behavior and then analyze to obtain what are the possibilities of time moving over. This is where we “strategize” and “plan”. It is our fight for survival with this dictator in our lives.
  3. Remember, you should never fully trust Time. Always assess it’s related RISKs and MITIGATE- this is what we do as leaders and managers- assessing, prioritizing, planning, implementing, optimizing the plan.
  1. Change is the ‘NEGOTIATOR’ – yes it is your key resource towards excellence and implementations of your strategies to manage / handle Time. We need to be very aligned and forthcoming towards CHANGE. It is a very amicable, collaborating and result oriented force. It has been the only other to have handled and managed the rapidly moving TIME. You cannot be averse to it. You cannot be deprived seeing it’s energy, vigour and passion to keep innovating. It only likes action and not stagnancy. Accept the change and it will take you through all the waves and peaks of life. Change as such will always be a loner when it starts it’s journey- it does not look aside to see who follows it. It just looks ahead. [Have you seen a band of wild horses running in the Texas desserts--- they personify this CHANGE]
    1. Prepare, to embrace and accept Change. For that first we need to be aware and alert about it. Assess it and then learn and improvise to match it’s vigour and magic to tame the Time!
    2. Set your plans once you have felt the ‘Change’- keep processing it continuously studying, with eyes wide open. Prepare and enhance your skills to keep upto it. Remember your last encounters with this ‘Change’, learn and hence innovate.
    3. Build yourself to be robust, resourceful, self sustained and knowledgeable in your designated area of change.
    4. However, also look around; for the other circles of innovations and Change around you- it may not affect you directly, but the trends of time may be affected in the future due to these.
    5. Stay in line- be strong, focused, have the game plan to control and sustain this Change- so that then it transforms to the ‘normal’.
    6. Last but the least that I have known- to collaborate with Change, is to be PATIENT, keep your head held high and alert- stay alive.
  2. Knowledge is the ‘PRESERVER’ – it will help you live and learn. It is what keeps you alive in your work, in your achievements, in your legends. We always forget or deprioritize to share our learning and retrospect after any waves of changes and aberrations. That is when we keep on dancing in the wheel of aberrations like the mice- we make the same mistakes or help our collaborators, partners, team mates do the same. If only we take a few cups of coffees or pugs of beer and sit and ruminate or retrospect- share our experiences to open ears and eyes- we would reduce risks from TIME and manage CHANGE faster in a shorter turnaround time. This is called improvising or optimizing to achieve faster turnarounds of success.
    1. I always remember my steps and learn from my slowdowns. I feel happy when someone shares their constructive feedback to push my capabilities forward- it makes me feel [Hey, you just made my life a little easy.. now with this correction I am a metric better equipt than what I was] enriched.
    2. It always makes a difference when you preach the right ways of doing things- that you give real life practical examples- what better can be the tools of learning- than real time cases and their studies. Share your experience you life. It does not make you less; but surely it makes you longer existent in this world beyond your corporate tenure. See examples- J. R. Tata, Steve Jobs. How many today personally know him- yet we all know him.
    3. When you share your experience it is mutually beneficial- it not only helps others to sustain through change and imbibe strategy towards success, it also increases your team- they all now understand your thoughts and ways- you have got more co-operation and collaboration.
    4. Record and archive knowledge in people, in write-ups, in books or in coffee table chit chats; but do it.

At the end everyday of life has success, no matter how small they are- at work, at home, in the neighbourhood anywhere. We just need to add on to it and make this success bigger and more noticeable. Collaborate, asses, accessorize and elaborate the co-operation to achieve this SUCCESS.

Well summarized article . Often people suggest us "Adapt to change", however you explained in detail how a right blend of "Time", " Change" and "Knowledge" can bring magical derivative "Success" :)
