Our Programmes?

Our Adolescent and Livelihood programmes have witnessed remarkable growth each year. Over the last 25 years, Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF) has empowered 1.5 million adolescents and placed 250,000 youths in sustainable jobs across India.?

Emphasising a gender equality perspective, our programmes showcase a 50% participation rate for girls in the adolescent programme and 56% in the livelihood programme.?

Our Adolescent Programme?caters to students in grades 6 to 12 and is implemented on the ground within schools. This approach encourages community engagement involving parents, teachers, and village panchayats through these interventions. As of September 2023, we have reached 380,687 adolescents and 1,990 schools in 72 districts, spanning 24 states and union territories.?

• School Regularity: Increases by 21.8%???
• Gender Attitudes: 21% increase in egalitarian gender attitudes, particularly among girls??
• Resilience: 34.7% improvement in perceived ability to withstand and recover from difficulties???
• Self-Efficacy: 31% increase in perceived ability to act as required to achieve goals??
• School Completion: 20% improvement in adolescent aspiration to complete education?

Our Livelihood Programme has emerged as one of the largest youth skilling and job placement organisations in the nonprofit space. This year, we have placed 1.03 lakh youths from underserved communities into sustainable grey-collared jobs through 113 centres and 400 colleges. One of the significant developments in 2023 was our continued leadership in the Skill Impact Bond, achieving an enrolment-to-placement ratio of 84%, the best ever in the ecosystem. Additionally, we initiated the development of the Future of Scaling, unveiling FutureX—an AI-based technology platform supported by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.??

Government Partnership Programme?

Magic Bus India Foundation has implemented a government school-based 21st-century life skills education programme for adolescents from grades 6 to 10 by leveraging teacher training. We have collaborated with eight state governments - Mizoram, Assam, Odisha, Rajasthan, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to introduce life skills education to 1.6 million adolescents, with the expectation to reach over 3 million in early 2024. This initiative is a transformative force in the education landscape, aligning seamlessly with the National Education Policy 2020 and its ambitious goal to ensure education is holistic and experiential.????

This collaborative initiative empowers schoolteachers to teach life skills and instil them in young students. The goal? To seamlessly integrate life skills education into government institutions, bolster teacher training capabilities, and efficiently scale education through an activity-based or sport-for-development approach.?
