STORIES FROM THE GROUND

Rapid Response: Supporting Assam's Flood-Affected Communities

Standing together to strengthen communities.

The recent floods in Assam devastated lives. In Kamrup district where Magic Bus has been active since 2022, our dedicated on-ground teams jumped into action to support the Nahira community. Our Community Learning Center (CLC) was opened up for use as a Child Friendly Space by Assam State Disaster Management Authority-ASDMA and 联合国儿童基金会 and, as a breastfeeding corner by the Dept. of Social Welfare, Govt. of Assam.

To support the mental and physical well-being of adolescents in the CLC, our team initiated life skills and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy activities. In recognition of our team’s dedication, quick response and positive impact, Chief Minister - Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Magic Bus CLC.
