STORIES FROM THE GROUND
Rapid Response: Supporting Assam's Flood-Affected Communities
The recent floods in Assam devastated lives. In Kamrup district where Magic Bus has been active since 2022, our dedicated on-ground teams jumped into action to support the Nahira community. Our Community Learning Center (CLC) was opened up for use as a Child Friendly Space by Assam State Disaster Management Authority-ASDMA and 联合国儿童基金会 and, as a breastfeeding corner by the Dept. of Social Welfare, Govt. of Assam.
To support the mental and physical well-being of adolescents in the CLC, our team initiated life skills and Foundational Literacy and Numeracy activities. In recognition of our team’s dedication, quick response and positive impact, Chief Minister - Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the Magic Bus CLC.
Inspiring Youth: A Day of Skill Development, Learning and Celebrations!
This World Youth Skills Day, Magic Bus organised impactful activities to empower and engage our youth. Participants from all Livelihood Centers across the country enthusiastically joined the celebrations which featured walkathons, alumni interactions, creative competitions, life skills-based games, and insightful skill development webinars, including a session led by NSDC's Archana Patankar and MBIF Executive Director, Arun Nalavadi.
