The Magic Behind the Curtain - Inc.’s Female Founders 200

Recently, my co-founder Amy Humble and I were recognized on Inc.’s Female Founders 200 list.

It is thrilling to have our hard work recognized, and we, like all entrepreneurs, know we would not have been here if we had not decided to leap into the unknown—to disrupt ourselves.

Amy and I would like to take today to eat our own cooking, if you will—to do what we would recommend any executive coaching client do or any team following an executive offsite.

When we started Disruption Advisors, we disrupted our status quo and the status quo of our families, friends, and colleagues. We jumped to a new S Curve?.

Now, we're not in mastery, but we’ve made progress. We are moving into the knee of the curve where you start to see the change happening. So we are pausing and shining a light on how far we’ve come.

We started with the idea of personal disruption and are now building a company around Smart Growth Leadership with an amazing team, excellent executive coaches and facilitators, and a proprietary technology tool that empowers our clients’ growth at all levels.

So we are celebrating this moment ––?including here with you.

We also want to pay our respects and homage to the people who made it possible for us to be on this list. As we frequently say, you must climb an S Curve alone, but you don’t do it by yourself.

On our organizational growth journey, we have been supported by our ecosystem: our mentors and advisors, like Clay Christensen, Jim Collins, Marshall Goldsmith, Bob Proctor, Cindy Carrillo, and Carl Benscoter; our families; our friends; and our clients.

We are still at the launch point of our growth journey—the beginning phase along the S Curve. Like many launch points, starting a company is difficult. We’ve learned a lot, and we continue to learn along the way.
