Magherafelt and Cookstown Team go Quackers for iCare

The fantastic team from the Magherafelt/ Cookstown area have granted an iCare Wish to a very deserving recipient and one of their fellow care assistant’s, Laura McNeilly.

The team wanted to grant a wish that would make a real difference to Laura’s life and to also be able to make a donation to a stoma care charity.

Team leader Carol McKee came up with the fundraising idea of hosting duck race, having previously organised one for a school she worked in. The whole team came together to help organise the event and sell “ducks”, with a significant number of local businesses donating fantastic prizes for race winners.

Held in the Moyola River, Tombermore, the very competitive duck race ended in a photo finish!!

An outstanding amount of ￡1200 was raised on the day, ￡500 for Laura’s iCare Wish and the rest being donated to a stoma care charity.

Well done to the entire team for their huge efforts.

Yet another iCare Wish success story in 2016.
