My journey at Walkers Tours began in 2012 as a school leaver. The intention back then was to acquire a few years of work experience and look at other opportunities and industries. Yet, I started to develop a liking for the industry as well as the culture at Walkers. Almost 10 years down the line, here I am still a part of the Walkers Tours family.?

We all love and enjoy our holidays, and day in and day out, my job is to curate holiday packages for foreign nationals by showcasing our country's rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty. In other words, I get to act as an ambassador for Sri Lanka. Nothing makes me happier than hearing from clients that their stay was remarkable and that it was a holiday well spent.?

Dealing with clients from various backgrounds and with diverse interests helps to escape the monotony of a regular 9 to 5 job. The most exciting aspect of my job is the opportunity to travel. With the ever-evolving interests and requirements of travelers, I need to be on my toes with new products and experiences. That gives me the opportunity to travel on a regular basis, which is by far the favorite part of my job. This includes hosted overnights in luxury hotels that are generally offered at premium prices, experiencing and building new excursions before recommending them to clients. From time to time, I also undertake official foreign trips, mainly to Europe, to meet with the foreign principals. This has helped me to network with other professionals in my industry.

My passion for the outdoors gave me the opportunity to be a part of Nature Odyssey, the adventure and wildlife arm of Walkers Tours catering to adventure and wildlife enthusiasts. A recently concluded trail running event was undoubtedly a highlight of my tenure at Walkers. Working with a world-renowned trail running brand, meeting pro-level athletes, hunting for camping locations, patrolling the campsite to ward off wild elephants, going on a safari at 2 AM, and identifying 250 km of rural countryside roads were some of the highlights of the event. There is never a dull day at work when I have the opportunity to have such unforgettable experiences.
