If operator AND is used, both statements must be (TRUE), so that the combined statement is also (TRUE).

Applied examples:

Politicians cause problems AND 2 + 2 = 4) (TRUE).

Politicians solve problems AND (2 + 2 ≠ 4) (FALSE).

Now an applied example with somewhat more reference to reality:

Politicians cause problems AND Politicians solve problems (FALSE).

If operator OR is used, at least 1 statement must be (TRUE), so that the combined statement is also (TRUE).

Applied example:

Politicians cause problems OR Politicians solve problems (TRUE)
