Rugby is an intense, physically demanding sport that requires a jersey built to endure the relentless energy of the game. Valour recognises this need and has collaborated closely with Valour Ambassador and Warringah Rugby Club pro athlete Sam Thomson, who has competed at the highest levels of rugby worldwide, including stints in Scotland, Japan, and most recently with the Brumbies and Waratahs. Sam's personal experience and expertise has been instrumental in our process of redefining and creating the ultimate rugby jersey that is simply, Made for More.?

Last week in Canberra the 2024/25 Australian School Boys (Australian Schools Rugby) were presented with this jersey, the latest in our rugby apparel range as they commenced their test series in Fiji. When asked about the best part of being on the team so far, the boys unanimously said the new Valour Kit, highlighting how a uniform can inspire pride, unity and confidence within a team.

After collaborating with our head designer, Ash Wells, we have been able to put together these insights into the features that make this new rugby jersey the choice for Australia's future athletes.

Innovative design meets high-performance fabrics.

We have re-engineered our high-performance rugby jersey to elevate both comfort and functionality. By eliminating two major stitching lines, reducing overall garment weight and bulk under the arms that you too often see in rugby jerseys, we’ve crafted an ergonomic design that minimises chafing and provides a streamlined fit that flows laterally throughout the upper torso.

The underarm panels are constructed with our advanced mesh Hex Lite fabric, which delivers exceptional breathability and durability. This lightweight, hexagonal mesh design maximises ventilation, effectively regulating body temperature to keep players cool and dry. Its structured design not only optimises airflow but also ensures toughness, making it perfectly suited for the demands of modern rugby.

Multiple reinforced collar options

The jersey features a two-piece stand-up collar, designed not only for a sleek, modern look but also for added durability. Extra reinforcements around the collar, secured with a bar-tacking stitch, provide additional strength and prevent wear and tear, ensuring the jersey maintains its shape and integrity over time.

"Barricade" robust fabric: tough and comfortable

Crafted from our exclusive "Barricade" robust fabric, this jersey stands out for its combination of softness, durability, and flexibility. The fabric is engineered with a unique 4-way stretch, allowing the jersey to move with the player while maintaining its resilience. It is designed to be extremely tough yet super soft, delivering comfort while withstanding the rigours of intense gameplay. The fabric is also resistant to abrasions and tears, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Flatlock stitching for enhanced comfort and strength

Every seam of the jersey features flatlock stitching, a design choice that prioritises comfort and durability. This technique reduces irritation against the skin and enhances the jersey’s toughness, making it resistant to ripping even under the most challenging conditions.

Optional padded GPS pocket and tracking capabilities
