MAD Architects announces the promotion of XU Chen to Associate Partner.

XU Chen joined MAD Architects in 2015. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, a Master's degree in Urban Design, and is a RIBA Chartered Member.

As an architect, XU Chen focuses on the relationship between cities, sites and architecture. In design practice, he is good at thinking and realizing ideal architectural solutions from multiple levels, including environment, aesthetics, function and technology, and has rich experience in large-scale projects from design to detail deepening and building construction, as well as the ability to design under strict control. He is also an excellent team manager.

XU Chen has led and participated in projects including Quzhou Sports Park, Tencent Shenzhen Headquarters Park, a high-rise residence in Bangkok, Thailand, Beijing Baiziwan Social Housing, Xiamen Xinhee Design Center, and Shenzhen Bay Culture Park, among many other projects for MAD's architectural practice.

Commenting on the appointment, MAD Architects said: "Over the past ten years since XU Chen joined MAD, he has always believed in and adhered to MAD's design essence and vision, maintained the pursuit of design in concept and practice, and actively promoted the practical implementation of MAD's design.

MAD Architects, established in 2004 by Ma Yansong, it's jointly led by Dang Qun and Yosuke Masano. The firm maintains offices in Beijing, Los Angeles, and Rome.

Accompanied by eight associate partners—Liu Huiying, Andrea D'Antrassi, Lu Junliang, Li Jian, Fu Changrui, Tiffany Dahlen, Flora Lee, and Xu Chen—the leadership directs a dynamic team of nearly 200 architects. This team is currently advancing nearly 60 projects worldwide, spanning 40 cities both in China and internationally, including Los Angeles, Rotterdam, Rome, Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen, among others. Our portfolio spans a diverse range of programs, from museums, art galleries, grand theaters, and concert halls to urban complexes, residences, urban renewal projects, and artistic creations.
