macOS Big Sur Coming Soon

This fall you can experience your Mac to the fullest with the biggest Safari update ever. macOS Big Sur brings a refined new design, powerful controls, and intuitive customization options. Some of the key features and enhancements include control center, updates to notification center, Safari, Privacy information, and much more. 

You will notice that windows have a lighter appearance with additional translucency, app icons have a new shape, menu bars in apps have been redesigned, system sounds have been redone, and there are new symbols in toolbars, sidebars, and controls. Here are a few more of the features you will discover with macOS Big Sur.

Messages allows you to pin up to nine conversations that sync across all of your apple devices, like you already see on your iPhone or iPad. 

Maps introduces guides - create your own guide of your favorite places, share with friends and family, and get automatic updates to always have the latest recommendations. You can even view a map inside of major airports and shopping centers around the world.

The initial releases will have major security improvements that will cause some pieces of existing software, such as VPNs and malware removal software to malfunction until they are updated. My recommendation is to wait a few weeks for the .1 update to be released before you update so bugs are fixed and developers have a chance to update their apps.
