MachTer is ChatGPT 2.0

?#MachTer is #chatgpt 2.0.

ChatGPT is all the rage right now. I’ve been spending time thinking out it from a creative perspective and last night, actually early this morning...about 3AM I awoke realizing that an idea I had years ago is based on what I believe is the next generation of ChatGPT. The idea was a derivative of Machines on Twitter, or MachTer (a mashup of the two words).

The idea was an in-vehicle #driver assist #technology which would engage without input from the driver until a decision need to be made.

Here’s the scenario: Your driving along (or broken down) and you’re given a message by a vehicle – essentially a light driven by a diagnostic code from your cars computer. What do you do? The decision tree could go a couple ways – do nothing, or do something. From there it can get more complex.

1. What if you had “MachTer”? MachTer would send a message to a “ChatGPT Advisor/Tech with some information:

Error Code

VIN

  • Latitude/Longitude (Address)
  • Trajectory
  • Speed

2-4. And MachTer engages in a dialog asking for answers to some simple questions:

  • Is this an emergency? If not in what time frame or distance travelled should this be dealt with?
  • Who are the closest service providers?
  • Do they have the available parts necessary to perform the work needed?
  • Do they have a technician with the appropriate skill set available to perform the work?
  • If yes to parts and labor, What would be the Estimated Time of Completion?
  • What is the estimated out the door price for the repair?

5. Provides three competitive options (if possible).

6. Then the person driving the car can select the option which meets their needs best and MachTer schedules the appointment and submits the requisite customer detail.

While this sounds simple enough, I think about all the non-standard #DMS, Website, and other service app interfaces needed to perform all these functions and it’s a tall order. That said, what ChatGPT has shown is the interaction is possible with a human...just not the part with turning it over to a machine (and the securing parts and labor availability and pricing). I see it as way more possible in the near term than I did say 60 days ago.

It will be interesting to see what happens. BTW, I’m not developing it; but, maybe you should.
