Here's three cheers for Mind Ordered Intelligence!!!

Given a choice between things “organic” and things “artificial,” most people would almost invariably choose the organic; except, it seems, in the sphere of intelligence.

The amount of focus, energy, and financial expenditures applied to developing artificial intelligence (AI) are prodigious. Would that it were equally so when it comes to developing the most precious resource in the universe – organic intelligence.

Computers function in three dimensions – rows, columns, and stacks. Because their operating systems are binary, their range of possibilities is finite; regardless of how apparently expansive that finity might be.

Computers manage data. Computers operate on finite programs and algorithms.

The Mind functions in six dimensions; beginning with the same complement of rows, columns, and stacks; the utility of which we invented and have implanted into electronic mechanisms.

But The Mind boldly goes where no machine can follow. In addition to the basics allowed machines, The Mind engages thinking with a further complement of dimensions; the totality of which open it to literally infinite and limitless possibilities.

Humans do not merely compute possibilities; they create new ones regularly, frequently, and consistently. That is because the human mind also embraces the exponentially expansive dimensions of time, space, and emotion.

Perhaps most significantly, where machines are bound by rules of programming and algorithm (even if the algorithm is for a machine version of “open ended learning”), the most powerful, and even mysterious, capability of The Mind is to perceive, articulate, and manifest unapparent connections.

This key dimension of human thinking allows, enables, and supports “connecting the dots” between data, information, and ideas in entirely non-linear, non-sequential, and multi-planal directions.

In dealing with unapparent connections, The Mind is capable of aligning things that have no perceivable or possible alignment – until they are somehow aligned; after which moment that alignment both changes our perception of reality and frequently manifests new-to-the-world realities.

The Mind makes sense of information. The mind ceaselessly reprograms itself every micro-second; and does so across the full range of the human neural network.

We know exactly where machine intelligence operates – in the central processing unit; because that is how we designed it. We have far less knowledge of the ways in which organic intelligence does what it does.

If we would focus as much time, energy, resources, and thinking on that form of intelligence – the universe of possibilities would be literally boundless and accelerated exponentially.
