MACH is a much-needed opportunity to get out and ‘kick the tyres’

Managing Director UK, Eire and National Distributors at YAMAZAKI MAZAK U.K. LIMITED
MACH is fast-approaching and I think I speak for everyone at Mazak when I say that I have never known such a sense of anticipation before a trade show before.
The feedback from our customers is very positive not least because UK manufacturing is buoyant with the PMI hitting a three-month high last week and sectors like aerospace coming back strongly. I’m confident this very positive mood and willingness to invest will result in excellent attendances.
All sectors suffered during the COVID lockdowns, but I do feel that engineers and machine tool users suffered more than most. My experience is that engineers like to get out and ‘kick the tyres’, get up close to new technologies, ask the difficult questions, test cut components and get a real feel for what their money can buy before committing.
I got a strong sense of the pent-up demand for a return to face-to-face customer interaction during our November Open House last year when we had a record number of visitors during our own four-day show. Of course, that pent-up demand is only likely to increase for a MACH show that is being held a year late.

The great thing about MACH is that it’s a meeting place, not only to meet old friends but also a place where you can meet new customers. Some of the most rewarding and productive relationships I have in my working life have started with casual conversations at MACH that developed into much deeper conversations about machine capabilities.
We’ve spent a lot of time in recent years looking to develop technologies that can bring the benefits of being a Mazak customer to more people. New entry-level machines, automation systems and our Go Green initiative are all worth seeking out.
And be sure to ask one of our engineers or sales representatives to give you a tour of the stand. We’ve missed MACH as much as you.
See you there.
