The?Manufacturing Technologies Association?(MTA) will launch its new Knowledge Hubs initiative at MACH 2024?to help boost competitiveness and sustainability in UK manufacturing.

This exciting new initiative by MTA will debut at the NEC Birmingham on 15-19 April 2024, with a series of Knowledge Hubs designed to inspire UK’s engineering-based manufacturing businesses to adopt new technologies and techniques. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to enhance their ability to compete on a global scale in a sustainable manner.

This initiative is being introduced against a background where compared to other?G7 countries, the UK's economic growth is currently one of the slowest. It is typified?by poor investment, low wages and low productivity. Not only have global competitors caught up with the UK, but in many cases, they have surpassed it in terms of productivity and investment.

It is recognised that one of the best ways forward to boost the UK’s economic output is through adoption of new technology and implementing latest techniques in manufacturing processes. MTA's Knowledge Hubs will provide valuable insights into when and how to adopt new technologies, including automation and robotics, data and artificial intelligence, sustainable manufacturing towards net zero and the use of additive manufacturing techniques. These informative resources will be highly beneficial for users in the manufacturing industry
