Mark 6:1-6
Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples. When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were astonished. They said, “Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.

Jesus can do all kinds of Miracles in our lives if we would just Believe that He can and/or will. When He raised the daughter from the dead in Mark 5, He simply told her Father to “have Faith”. Jesus couldn’t perform any mighty deeds in His home town, because the people there just couldn’t Believe that this Carpenter’s Son was the Messiah. Sound familiar? When we are Born Again in Christ, we don’t mystically fly away to some magical place with all new people, surroundings, etc. We are found in many of the same surroundings and interacting with most of the same folks that we did before we let Jesus fully into our hearts and Changed. But, at times, it’s hard for people to Believe in our Change. They knew us when we fell short. At some point, some may have heard venom spew from our mouths about some worldly, geopolitical topic. Quite often, they know our sins. The devil likes to whisper lies to them and try to use those folks to say those lies to us and to others. Whatever sin we’ve committed, the devil never wants us to know the Truth. He hates the Truth, because there is no Truth in him. The reality, my Brothers and Sisters, is that by the Cross of Christ, we are positionally-Redeemed and nothing can ever take that away. We are encouraged through Christ to keep shining our Lights on others – regardless of their Faith – to progress our Faith for as long as we can in this world. Some will join us; some will not. But, we are all Saved. In case you’ve forgotten who Jesus says you are, here are some bullet points to keep your Faith ablaze; Jesus would encourage you to say these out loud and read them often to proclaim and remember your Rightful Inheritance with Him (and all of us) in Heaven:
