HCLTech acquires Microsoft’s Nuance Services Unit to strengthen AI capabilities.

HCLTech has announced a significant expansion of its strategic partnership with Microsoft by acquiring Nuance's Enterprise Professional Services business and becoming the exclusive professional services partner for Nuance Enterprise's existing customers. The company will integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center as its preferred contact center solution, incorporating advanced AI capabilities through Microsoft's Copilot technology. In a major talent acquisition, more than 550 Nuance Enterprise Professional Services personnel with specialized conversational AI expertise will transition to HCLTech as part of the agreement. To facilitate seamless customer transitions, HCLTech will establish a dedicated Nuance Migration Factory for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center implementations, while providing comprehensive services including system integration, application development, and AI transformation solutions.

Google acquires part of HTC’s XR business for USD 250 Million to boost AR/VR efforts.

Google has acquired a portion of HTC’s extended reality (XR) business for USD 250 Million, strengthening its push into AR and VR hardware following the launch of its Android XR platform. The deal transfers some HTC VIVE engineering staff to Google while granting non-exclusive IP rights, allowing HTC to continue developing the technology. This marks Google’s second major acquisition from HTC, following its USD 1.1 Billion smartphone unit purchase in 2017. Google aims to accelerate Android XR development across headsets and smart glasses with this acquisition.

Amazon to buy Indian BNPL startup Axio for USD 150 Million.

Amazon has agreed to acquire Axio, an Indian buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) startup, to strengthen its financial services footprint in one of its fastest-growing markets. Amazon, which has held an equity stake in Axio for six years, is reportedly investing USD 150 million in the deal. Previously known as Capital Float, Axio has raised USD 135 Million from investors like Peak XV Partners, Ribbit Capital, and Elevation Capital. The startup provides point-of-sale credit on platforms like Amazon and MakeMyTrip. It has served over 10 million customers and has a loan book worth more than USD 260 Million.
