M&A and exits: is there a life after life?

Among the speakers and sessions' leaders on This Way Up 2015, I would specifically mention Bo Burlingham, editor-at-large of INC magazine. This session devoted to M&As and exits focused on a problem of business owners selling their life's achievement for a fistful of dollars. What's the problem, a lot of people would ask. Well, the problem is to remain in peace with yourself afterwards.

Key takeaways from the session are: be fair both to your counterparty and your staff, don't hide the skeletons in the closet; remember that when you get your check, the company is no longer yours and let it go the way it goes; have a contingency plan at hand, know what you will be doing with your life after the deal is completed - sale of your precious business is not the end of life, it's just a milestone, though an important one. Go on!
