No M-Tag, No Motorway After 31 Dec
National Highway Authority has issued a new notice regarding vehicles on motorways without M-Tag. National Highways and Motorway Police have made M-Tag Mandatory for all vehicles traveling via motorway.
No M-Tag, No Motorway
In a recent announcement, the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have rolled out a crucial update. Traveling on motorways now requires an M-Tag. Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to know.
Mandatory M-Tag Starting 2024
Effective immediately, the NHMP has declared the Tag mandatory for all vehicles on motorways. After December 31, 2023, driving without a Tag will result in fines. The move aims to ease the perpetual lines at toll plazas, ultimately reducing traffic congestion and minimizing air pollution.
How to Obtain Your M-Tag
Getting your Tag is a straightforward process. Visit any Toll Plaza booth on a motorway and head to the M-Tag issuance booth. Remember to carry your CNIC, Driving License, and Vehicle Registration Book. Without these documents, you won’t get your Tag. The best part? It comes at no extra cost!
Where to Stick It
Once you have your M-Tag, affix it to the top corner of your car’s windscreen, specifically at the top right. The catch: it goes inside the windshield, not outside.
