M LAST LECTURE IN COEP
These are the few glimpses after my official last lecture of my life in COEP on 07/07/2023. These are the reaction of the students. They are the Post graduation students of M.Tech (Transportation Engineering) 1st year. In my last official lecture of my life I taught them LACEY'S THEORY and solved two problems. Then I gave them a small treat from Boat Club Canteen. Rest is their love and reaction. I always say I earned less money and more love and this is the burning proof. The tall boy seen with me is named by me as tall boy (He is Krushna Gore). I give different names to different students and they are known by that name throughout life by their batchmates. Joined COEP on 12/01/2023 and will be retiring on 30/09/2023. Yesterday was the last date of the present semester and the trem ended. Next semester of PG will start at the end of September. So true to the best of my knowledge this was my last lecture. Students are my PRIDE,EARNINGS, BLESSINGS and LOVE. It was a journey of more than three decades. Took nearly 1700+ lectures in COEP in last thirty years. But the last one is memorable. Seniormost member of the class Abhiman Bhosle delivered a heart touching speech and it was followed by my laconic address. I will be always grateful to COEP and my students for accepting me and giving me the opportunity to unfold me in the form of teaching and motivating my boys and girls. Before 30 years I was friendly and now I am a fatherly figure. In my long teaching career I never found a bad boy/girl. They are like saplings. They need watering, nurturing and care in the form of affection. In India teaching is fear oriented, not love oriented. But my classes were always love oriented. This innocent and most powerful community of the globe want only three things. They are KNOWLEDGE, NUMBER and LOVE. I could be able to give them all these three parameters. For guiding academically strong students there are many teachers. Those students are having 8+/9+ CGPA. But who will guide the 5+ CGPA groups? For them I was always there. For that my another name is BACK LOG TEACHER. In grueling summer by taking lectures of summer term (brain child of AICTE chairman Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe - a caring professor) I helped my children and dragged the students from the stratum of 5+ CGPA to 7+ CGPA. My students are scattered across the globe and they are illuminating the technical landscape of the globe. IAS toper is my students, IES topper is my student, GATE topper is my student, MPSC topper is my student, a second class BE who didn't get job is also my student. Professors always give the references of the successful students, but I never do that. I may not be able to remember the names of all the students of all the batches, but I can't forget the batches. I may not be able to remember all the flowers, but how can I forget the garlands? In my life I wanted to be only a teacher and by the bliss of nature I could get that. Because I know I can only be a teacher, nothing else. Though I will be officially retiring and leave COEP, but my good wishes and love will be always there with my students to protect them like an invisible shadow. While typing this post my heart is full and my eyes are moist. But always I want to see a beaming smile in the faces of my students.
LOVE YOU MY BOYS AND GIRLS.
