'The Lynx and Us', a beautifully-presented hardback book about Europe's most secretive large carnivore, is now available outside the UK with much cheaper delivery.
The Lynx and Us tells the story of the changing relationship between the Eurasian lynx and the human inhabitants of Europe as the species recolonises or is reintroduced to landscapes where it was wiped out in previous decades and centuries. It uses references from across Europe to detail lynx ecology, behaviour and interactions with us.
The book is illustrated throughout with the fabulous images of French photographer Laurent Geslin, who has amassed a wonderful portfolio of wild lynx from the mountains of Switzerland.
It has recently become available on the Natural History Book Store (NHBS) website where international delivery is much cheaper than on Amazon. Delivery to most European countries costs £6, and to the rest of the world costs £7.50 (compared to £11.95 and £22.95 respectively on Amazon). The book itself costs £24.99 and it is possible to pay in euros or US dollars.

5 年Hey there, where was this when I needed it for my dissertation! My focus was whether it was the right thing to try and reintegrate lynx throughout the UK as a natural predator to restore the ecosystem but of course there is the hindrance of peoples opinions and the challenge of how we can change them to accept the need for a predator. Absolutely adored studying into it and of course I know Scotland are in the process of obtaining lynx in attempts to try and reintroduce them to control the deer population; do you know if anything has progressed regarding this? Cannot wait to give this a proper read soon!?
