Lynnette’s journey is one that takes us from the rugged beauty of Alaska to the heights of
insurance excellence. Born and raised on Kodiak Island, Lynnette's upbringing in the land of
Kodiak bears prepared her for anything life could throw at her.
Fear?
Not in her vocabulary.
After graduating high school in Alaska, she moved to Seattle for college, where she met her
husband of over 30 years. Together, they’ve raised three amazing children, all of whom are
making waves in the medical field.
But let's dive into what makes Lynnette a true standout in the insurance world.
In 2012, she seized the opportunity to purchase her own agency, a decision that would shape the next chapter of her life. Starting with a focus on employee benefits, Lynnette quickly mastered the ropes, becoming a trusted advisor to countless clients.
Her passion for benefits is clear, but what’s even more impressive is how she’s grown her agency into a full-service operation.
Today, Lynnette's agency offers everything a client might need, though her heart remains in benefits—a field where she continues to shine.
“Where my heart is, is in benefits,” Lynnette shares. “I’ve been fortunate to grow my agency and
acquire other agencies, but benefits are where I feel most comfortable and where I’ve seen the
biggest impact on my clients’ lives.”
Lynnette’s expertise is unmatched, especially in navigating the complexities of the Affordable
Care Act (ACA). For those of you thinking about adding group benefits to your portfolio, take
note: Lynnette emphasizes the importance of understanding ACA mandates, IRS forms, and the
nuances of our healthcare system.
“You really do have to pay attention and understand all that went into place in 2014 with the Affordable Care Act. There are mandates, depending upon the size of a company, and you have to make sure your clients are compliant,” she advises.

And let's talk about products.
Lynnette is a firm believer that you need to know what you're selling inside and out.
Health insurance plans are not one-size-fits-all, and she makes it her mission to tailor coverage to the unique needs of each client.
“Sometimes there are 25 different plans offered to a client, and it’s easy to think they’re all the same—they’re not,” Lynnette explains. “You have to know what’s behind each of those products and tailor them to the specific needs of your clients.”
One of the most critical lessons Lynnette shares is about networks.
It’s easy to be lured in by a low-cost plan, but if the network is limited, your clients will pay the price—literally.
“Network is very important,” Lynnette stresses. “Can you imagine selling a plan that costs an employer a significant investment, only to have their employees complaining because they can’t use the product? It’s essential to ensure the network is robust and meets the needs of your clients.”
Lynnette’s results speak for themselves. She’s not just providing coverage; she’s transforming the way her clients think about and utilize their benefits.
“Employee benefits are often an employer’s second-highest expense after payroll. It’s a big investment, and it’s my job to make sure that investment is well-spent,” she says.
