Milestone are proud to have assisted landowner and developer Harworth in securing planning permission for this 340-acre employment development site, which will see over 1 million square feet of light industrial units provided over the next 10-15 years.The re-generation of this important brownfield site will help to replace the 1,000 jobs lost when the Alcan smelter complex closed in 2012 and Milestone have been involved in shaping the masterplan and off-site works from the outset. This included designing pedestrian, cycle and public transport improvement schemes, site access improvements and lighting enhancements to protect both users of the site and the local wildlife population. The scheme was approved unanimously on Tuesday, with no need for a S106 agreement, after a little over 3 months in the planning system.
