Las Vegas police?official: Service is 'a calling'
Don't miss the latest edition?of the Vegas Legal Magazine Podcast, featuring?a wide-ranging and insightful interview with Steve Grammas, President of the Las Vegas Police Protective Association, which represents more than 3,000 officers in Las Vegas.
Joining hosts Mark Fierro and Tyler Morgan, Grammas touched upon a substantial array of big issues, including how the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has evolved through the years, the changing of the guard with a new Sheriff, updates from the Nevada legislative session, and the ongoing battle against dangerous substances such as fentanyl.
"By and large, someone willing to put on a bulletproof vest and possibly not go home at the end of the night genuinely only cares about helping a person that's being victimized," Grammas said. "They really want to do the best they can. You don't get into this for the pay. No, it's a calling. And I'm thankful we have the officers that we do who continue to go out there and protect our streets every day, and 99% of the time they're doing it for people that they don't even know."
