The neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe, Mamila, Mishkenot Sha’ananim and the Jewish Quarter are considered extremely luxurious neighborhoods in the city of Jerusalem. 

For years the Jewish people have prayed for their return to Zion and to the Holy City and, after 2000 years, that dream has come to fruition especially for those living in the neighborhoods adjacent to the Old City and Western Wall. This innate desire of Jews from all around the world to live near these historic sites constantly raises the demand for property in these beautiful locales. It is also the reason that Jerusalem’s most famous, deluxe and successful hotels, such as the Waldorf Astoria, King David and David’s Citadel, are located here. 

Another factor that makes these areas the most desirable are their proximity to the Old City, Jewish Quarter and Western Wall with its breath-taking views of the Temple Mount, as well as to the thriving City Center, Rehavia and Nahalat Shiv’a neighborhoods, and buzzing city nightlife. A short walk also brings one to the Great Synagogue of Jerusalem, the Mamila Mall, the Prime Minister’s residence, Independence Park, the US Consulate, Paris Square, and the exciting City Center itself with its bustling stores and throngs of pedestrians. 

When visiting these neighborhoods one is also immersed first-hand in Jerusalem’s history and culture, dating all the way back to biblical times — whether one is standing near the foot of the Western Wall, the walls of the Old City, the Tower of David, the windmill in Yemin Moshe, or any of the many other magical sites. 

 

Yemin Moshe was the first neighborhood to be built outside the walls of the Old City. The neighborhood’s calling cards are the windmill and Sir Moses Montefiore’s carriage. The neighborhood is characterized by private homes interspersed with an inspiring artist’s colony and stunning views of the ancient walls of the Old City and Tower of David. 

The Mamila neighborhood was built in the 19 century and rebuilt after the Six Day War into an affluent area. Mamila is built on land considered to be some of the most expensive in all of Israel. It is home to a deluxe shopping mall, which is always bustling with locals and tourists from around the world. 

The Jewish Quarter comprises approximately 20 percent of the Old City. It borders with the Temple Mount and Western Wall on its east, the Old City to its south, the Armenian Quarter to its west, and the vivacious market (shuk) on David Street to its north. The Quarter is also close to the Western Wall and Temple Mount, the holiest place for the Jewish people. The houses are a stunning combination of ancient and modern architectural styles, which give the area a unique flavor and rare splendor. The Quarter is home to many places of leisure, including trendy cafés, fine restaurants and popular hostels.  

The residents of all these neighborhoods are mostly from a high socio-economic bracket and there is constant and increasing demand for properties here from Diaspora Jews whose geopolitical situations in their home countries are deteriorating. In contrast, the supply of private homes and luxury apartments for sale is limited and constantly declining due to the lack of available land for construction. This high-demand Vs low-supply ratio guarantees that properties in the area will at the very least maintain their value and likely increase in value in the future making them an extremely viable long-term investment.
