Luxury fashion making its statement – MET Gala

I recall my tenure of handling a luxury niche fragrance called The Spirit of Dubai fragrances wherein I learned the basics of luxury brand building and the real life storytelling formats.

The story is reflected in the minutest details of packaging, crafting the hand-blown bottles (murano glasses) polishing the glass to the finest perfection, and then of course blending the fragrance with the finest of the natural ingredients wherein each note would evoke senses narrating the story of its each ingredient infused to make the perfect blend of scent.

Welcome folks to the world of Luxury marketing wherein you don’t sell products or services, You sell DREAMS.

Any rational behaviors are not bound to luxury marketing and it has their niche audience who aspires to possess the product from their self-esteem.

Luxury marketing is all about Attitude marketing.

This week the?Metropolitan Museum of Art's?Costume Institute?opened an ambitious exhibit wherein celebrities across the world participated and the theme was – Is fashion an art?

When a garment is brought into the Met's collection, its status does change remarkably.?

It becomes more of an object.

It becomes a work of art, which is fantastic because it means you can preserve it forever, so it'll be eternally beautiful and forever youthful.

Fashion is a living art form and, to really understand and appreciate it, you need the sense of smell, sense of touch, and sense of hearing.

That was part of this year Met’s idea/ theme:

How can we reawaken garments in the collection, still keeping in mind the ideas of preservation and conservation?

It highlighted the concept of sustainable fashion, rendering new life to garments using the concept of recommerce.
