Luxury cars - driving success. Even/especially for vehicles that don't exist....
Rolls-Royce scores ten out of ten with Phantom Scintilla
If you're thinking, 'Huh, I'll be the judge of that', let me explain. This ad takes us on a decorously described tour of a luxury vehicle that will be unattainable to all but ten of us: the Phantom Scintilla Private Collection will only comprise ten cars, and they are already all accounted for. Speculation as to the price tag hovers round the seven-figure mark.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars bill themselves as "an everlasting expression of the exceptional". The Scintilla, for which the iconic 'Spirit of Ecstasy' figurine is clad in ceramic, looks set to live up to that standard. We're not here to judge, but the ad itself is worth watching to view the sparkling interior, which was reportedly two years in the making.
Though high-end cars continue to hold their value well in the luxury sector, there is a general recognition emerging that the iconic brands are becoming corrupted as they barge over into the mass market lane with hybrid, electric and SUV models.
As Luxury Lifestyle Magazine puts it:
"Those car brands that have held on to their niche identity, such as Bugatti or Bentley, to name just two examples, look set to dominate the market, at least for the elite car-buying public for which money is no object."

Temerario not the only tantaliser....
For those of us not in that bracket, there are always the ads.
What we're seeing is that alongside awareness of environmental credentials and artificial intelligence (AI) gadgetry, there's a tantalising trend towards retro as well as unattainability in the car commercial field.
Pictured: Cadillac presents its delicious ice-cream sundae Sollei Concept (pictured); Bugatti spreads its wings with the new Tourbillon; while fans are drooling over Fully Leaded's rendering of a 2024 version of the VW Golf, with some calling for the automaker to take note and actually produce the junkyard, alpha-dog model NOW.
And finally, let's continue to manage expectations here: If this ad for the Lamborghini Temerario has you reaching to hit the Purchase button, hold your horses - it is not yet offered for sale.?
It's a tough one. Looks and power. I'm veering towards the Cadi.... Yourself?
