LuxePack Monaco 2015 preview

LuxePack Monaco 2015 preview

LuxePack, Europe’s “premier show for creative packaging” kicks off on October 21st in Monaco. Each year the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco is packed to the gills with the major suppliers of luxury and innovative packaging for the drinks and beauty industries. There will be 450 companies, including 65 exhibiting for the first time, but what should we be looking out for and what are the trends and innovations for the future of luxury packaging?

The drink and beauty industries are hypercompetitive and high-margin packaging is of the utmost importance as each brand is looking for a competitive edge. Limited editions are a highly important part of the brand mix, and those tend to come with bespoke packaging solutions. In a world where brands have to be both seen and heard having a stand-out product is of utmost importance.

This year, two of Seymourpowell’s senior packaging designers will be visiting LuxePack to produce a visual report and give an insight into the latest launches, breakthroughs in packaging and of course the increased role technology and materials play in getting brands to the highly prized number one spot.   Magali Vitel and Gilbert Balaram will be meeting exhibitors and capturing the intriguing and novel throughout the exhibition.

Our report of the three-day event will piece together a picture of what 2016 and beyond will look like for the global drinks and beauty market.  These two markets are so intimately connected in terms of pack aesthetics that LuxePack has become an overwhelming concentration of all that is bright and new in the world of luxury packaging.

Examining the exhibitors who will be in attendance, some clear trends are already apparent such as the increased focus on technology. Connect' Live, in partnership with the French National RFID Centre will showcase the latest RFID and NFC automatic data capture technology which will further increase consumers’ interaction with a brand beyond just purchase and consumption. With demonstrations of applications, we expect technology to become more than a ‘would like to have’ and instead intrinsically linked to the brand values, behaviours and products.

Each year we are impressed with the innovation in glass decoration and metal packaging, once again we’re looking forward to seeing the truly innovative from pack manufacturers. The metal packaging stands are always a throng of activity and one of the highlights of the show.   We’re also looking forward to seeing the latest innovations in the glass packaging. The glass manufacturers at LuxePack never fail to impress.

If there is one must-attend show for luxury packaging each year, it’s the Monaco edition of LuxePack and if you can’t make it be sure to check in with us to keep informed on the very latest in innovation from the event.
