Lupus might try to dictate my life, but I refuse to let it define me
THE AMAZON LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (TheALI)
Black Child, Your Dreams are Valid.
Whew! Navigating the complexities of life with lupus, I’ve faced challenges that have tested my limits in ways I never imagined. Lupus has taken so much from me—my health, my energy, my peace of mind—but it has never taken my spirit, my determination, or my will to keep pushing forward.
Being a part of THE AMAZON LEADERSHIP INITIATIVE (TheALI) mentorship program has been nothing short of transformative. The program has been my guiding light, illuminating the path during some of my darkest days. The mentorship, the support, and the community I found through TheALI have all played a pivotal role in shaping the woman I am today.
The program has been my guiding light, illuminating the path during some of my darkest days.
One of my proudest moments came during the YALI pitch day. Standing in front of over 100 people, I felt a mix of fear and exhilaration. Honestly, I wanted to shit my pants on that day,(forgive my 'French') but I channeled every ounce of courage and resilience I had. I stood there, strong and confident, sharing my vision . That moment was a testament to the strength and growth TheALI has instilled in me.

Lupus might try to dictate my life, but I refuse to let it define me. The mentorship program has empowered me to reclaim my narrative, to stand tall, and to speak my truth with unwavering confidence. It’s taught me that while I might bend, I will never BREAK.
To every young woman out there facing her own battles, know this: we are more powerful than we realize. Our struggles do not diminish our strength—they amplify it. And , Black Girl , YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID!
Thanks to the incredible support and guidance from my mentor Ms. Makgola Makololo , I am more determined than ever to continue breaking barriers, shattering ceilings, and making my mark on this world.
