On a trip to play golf in the Kingdom of Fife last year we included the brilliant Lundin Links in our short 3 course itinerary. Lundin is another of the wonderful and historical links courses less than a 25 minute drive from St Andrews (Crail, Leven, Scotscraig and Elie are all close to the Home of Golf – not to mention the world famous Kingsbarns and the great new course at Dumbarnie Links). I was lucky enough to first play the very classy golf course at Lundin Links in the early 1970’s and have been a regular visitor ever since.

The setting is spectacular as the clubhouse, pro-shop and first tee are set on a high dune looking across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh and East Lothian. The holes are varied and interesting and depending on the wind some can offer a birdie chance or more likely a challenge even to the top rated player – for example getting onto the 4thgreen in 2 shots into a prevailing wind across the burn would indeed provide any golfer a real sense of achievement.

One interesting fact about the course – I believe Lundin Links to be the only 18 hole golf course in Scotland upon which every hole can be seen from one single point (the 14thtee). If anyone can correct me please do so by sending a quick comment or indeed email me at [email protected]. To take a brilliant flyover the course click here: https://www.lundingolfclub.co.uk/the-course/lundin-course-guide/
