These tips will help you to enjoy great restaurant meals without sacrificing your figure:
- Be Menu-Savvy: Take a quick glance at the menu online before you go. Pick dishes that lean towards veggies and lean proteins.
- Choose Wisely: Favor dishes that are grilled or steamed over fried ones. Skip anything described as "creamy" or "crispy."
- Half Now, Half Later: Restaurant servings are often huge. Share with a friend or pack half to go right from the start.
- Swap Smart: Exchange fries or heavy sides for greens or veggies. Most places are happy to accommodate.
- Limit the Extras: Breads, appetizers, and desserts are tempting but add up quickly. If you indulge, share the love (and calories) with the table.
- Hydration is Key: Drink plenty of water. It helps you distinguish hunger from thirst and cuts down on sugary or alcoholic drinks.
- Dressings on the Side: Sauces and dressings can be calorie bombs. Ask for them on the side to keep control.
- Savor Each Bite: Eat slowly. Enjoying your food leisurely can help you feel satisfied with less.
- Plan Your Day: If you're planning a restaurant meal, adjust your other meals that day to be lighter or skip them.
- Keep Moving: A walk or light exercise before or after eating helps balance out the calorie intake.
I even go as far as stopping the waiter with the bread before he puts it on the table(but for that you need to be alone or with someone that is happy too skipping the bread). Avoid alcohol is also easy, iced water and lemon or a tomato juice as an appetitive are equally chic. If you want to know more or have any other questions, I will be happy to help.
