Lucy speaks at the Gawooleng Convention in Kununurra
Lucy Cornell
Founder & CEO at Cornell Voice Advisory | Keynote Speaker | Global Specialist on the speaking voice for business leaders
Last week, our CEO and founder Lucy Cornell joined an inspiring and extraordinary group of women leaders at the Jawun Gawooleng Convention, this year held on Mirriwoong Gajerrong country in the East Kimberley.
The Jawun links Indigenous leaders with corporate and government employees in a system of secondments which has, over the last few years, created an impressive network of information sharing and mentoring across fields, from organisational systems and processes, to strategy, to business development, program design, evaluation, finance, human resources and marketing.
In addition to their incredibly successful and active secondments program where there is equal two way learning between indigenous and corporate female leaders, Jawun has set up Stories of Female Leadership, now a network consisting of over 200 influential women from community, corporate and government organisations who want to unlock female leadership for a better nation.
Lucy spent time with Gawooleng Convention delegates in ceremony, conversation and discussion and contributed her voice as a keynote speaker on the topic of ‘Women, Voice and Agency’.
“As conversations unfolded among us, we form some life-long friendships”, says Lucy in a text from Kununurra.
Stay tuned for some personal insights from Lucy in the coming weeks.

6 年Sounds like an amazing initiative Lucy. My own Jawun experience was life changing in many ways - and the importance of sharing stories told with an authentic voice and heard with an empathic ear, cannot be understated.?
