Most of the world couldn't believe what we witnessed on 3/11 at Indian Wells 法国巴黎银行 Tournament on the Center Court.
The "Lucky Loser" 20-year old Italian Luca Nardi took down Goliath aka the number one seed Novak Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
The announcer kept referring to Nardi as the "Lucky Loser" even as he aced his last point to defeat Djokovic.
I was curious if it shows us in a world where winning is valued how being the "Lucky Loser" isn't always so bad. Indeed, many claim that it is only by losing that we can learn.
Is learning to lose graciously also a lesson that many can learn?
When the world's number 1 player blamed his loss on his performance instead of just saying he lost - many were thinking? Is this a gracious way to lose?
What's comes next for the "Lucky Loser"? When Nardi was interviewed it appeared he didn't even know who he would be playing in the draw.
Thank you Nardi for this additional lesson on how to simply living in the moment. Not being concerned about who you are playing next is a breath of fresh air in a world that can be so concerned about WHO instead of WHAT they are doing.
Looking forward to seeing what's next for Nardi who has shown the world that sometimes we can get lucky even when we face a loss.
