Lucky to have this team

This week I am going to start with a new challenge within the company, we have decided as a family to move to a new country, I will continue in customer service area, but I will do new functions always looking to improve the timely attention of our customers.

I have had to let go of my current team, where we have lived difficult and stressful moments, joys, achivements and triumphs, but what I take most from them is their friendship and willingness to always talk.

None company falls off a cliff because of the emotional disconnection of its employees, but this routine burden, so uninspiring from a personal point of view, ends up leading any organization to the worst kind of death: slowness.
JORGE VALDANO

When I joined as team leader, my internal doubts make me to think if I would really be up to what this work team needed, if the future changes in my mind would be the right ones for them to become more mature and take a step forward within the organization. Sometimes they say, "...it might be hard for us to see ourselves as leaders, but let's remember that if someone has given us the job it's because they believe in us, so let's trust their good judgment..." I appreciate to my boss at the time for the opportunity and I hope his good judgment has not changed. I reamain with the satisfaction of having worked to the best of my ability and leaving a strengthened team.

Among the lessons that I learned with the team and which I believe is a philosophy of life, although too applied to customer service, these are some notes that I would like them to keep and apply on a daily basis.

  • "Fighting against something that has already happened is wasting time and strength: what you have to do is to manage what is there..." No matter what happened before or why things were not executed according to the plan, you have to how to solve them and have an additional plan.
  • "Time never stands still..."
  • "it is pure logic to concentrate only on those things you can influence. You cannot take into account those things that are out of your control" Within the service there is a process chain that should be fulfilled, however, we must be focused on doing well what we have to do, without worrying about what doesn't depend on us.
  • "Let's know the work we do. Those we manage expect no less."
  • "Transparent communication is vital, especially in explaining conflicting decisions."
  • "We will all need to learn to use all the data, because if we don't, others will, that's guaranteed."

...Who can think not giving people the decisive value they have in the construction of any project? To those who think of today and look down on tomorrow; to those who decide in terms of "more-less" instead of "better-worse"; to those who see human beings as an insignificant screw in the business machine..

When I arrived to the team they had identity problems, misorganization and some interpersonal issues, however, I found the attitude and the human material to make changes and achieve the union to work together and reach the objectives. We work to have a change in the dynamics that they never had not had, their worth they have in my future and as you help me to built me as a boss leave me very satisfied.

You have given me feedback in a spectacular way, they have shown me that the way we have worked was what you needed, that my efforts to help them and the method made their individual strengths increase, there is no way I can say you thanks for what you have told me, someone told me that positive people like you allow us to fill the heart and I needed to fill mine, you have put me in context and I am glad what you have helped me to be a better person and a better boss.

I am very lucky to have been part of your lifes these last 4 years and meet you!
